I’m not the kinda gal to invest a bundle of coin into a girls weekend away, but when one is tossed into my lap, I have to take advantage.
The days before blogher14 in San Jose we had the opportunity to hang out in San Francisco for a girls overnighter, and thanks to the flexibility of the rad new app HotelTonight, we were abler to book an affordable hotel in the thick of it!
Arriving in the later afternoon, and leaving just over 24 hours later meant we had a lot to squeeze into a small chunk of time.
San Francisco ended up being all about NOT getting a tattoo. It meant waiting for a bit while two of the others girls did, but that was fine for this sissy girl.
It also meant putting in a chunk of time to walking hills. Lots of hills. In the sunshine. Luckily we were all in groovy and super comfy Mandala Sky gear which meant we didn’t sweat like banshees and we felt comfy, yet still dressed fine for walking the streets of San Fran.
In fact, I think we may have caused a stir with our rad outfits. . .
San Francisco was the perfect girls day out with lots of shopping and even a few Sea Lions thrown in for good measure. We finished our day at Fisherman’s Warf, on Pier 39 enjoying an amazing dinner at the Fog Harbour Fish House. Crab Frittatas, Lobster and (OMG SO GOOD) Lobster Mac & Cheese, all with a view of Alcatraz (the closest we got to it) We were even able to transition our Mandala Ware to dinner as well – slipping on some maxi skirts and a bit of sparkle meant we were still comfortable (and we were thankful for those elastic waistbands)
But most importantly, I enjoyed a few amazing hours with my girls. Wandering. Talking. Laughing. Eating (and more eating) A break from the norm and a wee bit of an adventure (especially when one of those gals decided to treat us all to some local Chinatown fare)
Adventures are empowering – check out my little video of our time in San Fran!
And thank goodness this one was short (I don’t think I could have done many more miles of those hills)
