I have always been a great sleeper, one of those early to bed, early to rise kind of gals, but lately things have changed. The excitement of the holiday season always does me in. My brain ticks, and my heart beats, beats, beats as I try to calm myself to get some rest, from November 15 onwards. Couple that with a trip to Europe with the family… and lists upon lists upon lists that build themselves in my brain.. keeping sleep at bay. I would try to stay up later, in the hopes that I would sleep past 5 am… only to wake at 430. Then, exhausted the following night, I would fall asleep by 8, and my restless mind would be laughing at my attempts from 1 to 4 am. These past days were getting worse and worse, and finally I needed to try something.
