I have a guilty little secret and it’s time to let it out. It’s something that I inherited from my mom, and she from her’s, so I definitely come by it honestly. But the time has come to shed the shackles of shame and break free with a whole new outlook.
I’m a container hoarder.
Phew, that felt good! You see, my gramma washed every single plastic container and lid, every plastic bag and even those Styrofoam meat trays and reused them all. For YEARS people, YEARS! She had every lid and every container organized, as my mom now does too. I have inherited this dedication to washing and keeping containers, however the organizational gene seems to have passed me by. I don’t think I have a single matching container and lid in my entire kitchen, which makes putting away leftovers somewhat of a challenge. My fridge is bursting with lids balanced precariously on containers, just waiting for some foolhardy person to grab it and have it dump all over the floor.
So today, right now, I have decided to pitch the works in the recycling bin and start over, and GLAD is going to help me.
With their range of easy to use containers and food wraps I will have an organized fridge with no more mystery mold leftovers lurking in the back under an ill fitting lid.
I started with GLAD’s tips for organizing your fridge, and it really makes sense, not to mention makes my fridge seem to have way more storage than it did before! The kids have access to their snacks, and I don’t have hard boiled eggs rolling around my fridge shelves, nor that pleasant eggy aroma!
And the garden pickings stay FRESH! Fresher than they ever were!
Glad’s press and seal wrap really sticks, making meal prep a dream. I can put together my greek salad hours before dinner and the press and seal wrap keeping it fresh, and keeps the yummy aromas of the feta and veggies in the salad instead of in the whole fridge.
It also has spill proof power, so even if one of the little hands knocks it, my fridge won’t be drenched!
I have so wholeheartedly embraced this new system, I keep opening the fridge just to admire my handiwork. What a calming feeling to see everything stored conveniently and properly, as opposed to the chaos we had before. I wonder what else I can use these products for?
