Doesn’t life just fly by sometimes? Make that all times actually! Every day is a blurring whir of business and kids, dogs and goats, chickens and of course the hubby. I’m supposed to be making time for myself, going to the gym and working out, planning meals in advance so there’s always a hord of healthy choices for me to make into delicious dinners. Ya, well…. I’m ticking all the boxes except one and it’s starting to slow me down. I keep missing the “take care of me” box. Well chickies, things need to change.
My mornings are crazy by any standard, now add milking a goat to the mix and you’ve got craziness times ten.
By the time I get the kids lunches packed, their breakfasts made and actually into them and wave them off as the bus drives away, I’m pooped. I feel like I’ve packed an entire day into a couple hours. And, I realize I’m STARVING! I missed the moment when I was supposed to stop and eat something, somewhere between trying to get the goat shed closed before the baby escaped and finding clean socks for my youngest. So by 8:30 am I have been up for over two hours, been busy and used up energy I didn’t have and now I am ravenously hungry, ready to eat the leftover cake and lasagna, together. There must be a better way, a way that isn’t time consuming but will give me the energy and satisfy me so I’m not face first in a pie plate before 9am.
