Throughout my life it was instilled in me to have faith that all “this” will work out. That even through times of trouble, strife, fear and worry, I was encouraged to confront my concerns and problems and travel through them to find opportunity on the other side.
This was all brought into the core value of my life, organically through my parents and grandparents. A trust based sometimes on the religious practices of those people, but mostly just from an ingrained sense of self value and love.
In my twenties I started to explore the reasoning behind “trust and it will all work out”. I never felt pulled to church like my mother and her mother, and instead explored astrology, searching for a cause or greater explanation of the shifts my body and soul went through.
By reading, asking questions and talking to “those in the know” I understood that there is an explanation for the cycles in my life. There is a “greater reason” and purpose for my journey here.
In my forties I still check in on my horoscope, chat with my astrologist and, most importantly, listen to the signals in my life to help me define my choices. Mostly these days I do it “in the midst” of a life question, vs “before” I use this guidance to help explain my current place and the position of people around me, vs using it to plan my days and forecast.
I am a believer that we are here for a purpose, and our goal is to explore that and be present in our life. I do trust that my successes, my failures and my challenges in the life are here to help me progress as a person. I believe that when we find our path, and follow it, balance, harmony and success will come to us, in the form that we truly want it.
Much like any practice in life, I need to remind myself continually to LISTEN. To follow my instincts, to check in on my feelings. To be courageous in making decisions that are best for ME and MY LIFE. To do things that benefit my soul and my family. To live in a positive place.
Insert whatever “hippy-dippy” comments you want here, but then take a moment and check in with yourself. Are you truly in a place of happiness? Are you strong enough to make decisions that are best for YOU vs what you think you should do? Do you have the time to spend in the place you love the most, be it your family, your career, your hobbies?
Most importantly, are you fulfilled? Do you understand your purpose? And is it truly YOUR purpose vs the purpose others have for you?
In the end, our only responsibility is to OURSELVES. This does not discredit our commitment to our families, and partners. . but only confirms that by being truly blissed out as US, we are able to offer the best of ourselves to others.
If you are questioning what is going on right now, check this out. There are many places you can go to find explanations, but I find this page the easiest to digest!
Most importantly, don’t shy away from exploring your imbalances. Have the courage to face your fears, and set your boundaries. Trust that it will work out, even if you make a change. Define your choices, stand wholly within yourself. Find your bliss.
